Oviedo

Oviedo is a city in Seminole County, FL, located 18 miles northeast of Orlando. As of 2006, the population recorded was 30,618.

Oviedo is known for its history, wandering chickens and excellent public schools. Once a small quiet rural community with its roots going back to 1865, Oviedo has doubled in size during the past decade with many new communities, as well as a major shopping mall: the Oviedo Marketplace. 

The City is in close proximity to major employers and the University of Central Florida. The City is planning a brand new downtown development just south of the current "old downtown." The new town center will be a mixed-use development including town homes, single family living, apartment homes, restaurants, retail, and a planned amphitheater.
