Sorrento

Sorrento is a census-designated place and town in Lake County, about 30 miles north of Orlando, near Apopka, Mount Dora and Sanford. The population was 765 as of the 2000 census.

Sorrento offers a wonderful rural atmosphere that invites those who love to live a relaxed equestrian lifestyle. It is home of the Rock Springs Run State Reserve, a 14,000-acre State Reserve, which is part of the 42,000 acres that makes up Wekiva River Basin State Parks. Sand pine scrub, pine flatwoods, swamps, and miles of pristine shoreline along Rock Springs Run and the Wekiva River make this reserve a refuge of natural beauty. Visitors can enjoy bicycling, hiking, or horseback riding along 17 miles of trails. The Rock Springs Riding Ranch offers horseback riding for the whole family.
